Nursery Admissions
The Bishop Gilpin Nursery is led by qualified teachers and follows the Government’s “Early Years Foundation Stage” (EYFS) curriculum which sets out the key learning objectives from birth to age 5 (end of Reception). This promotes knowledge and develops skills in children’s learning in seven main areas:
- Personal, Social, Emotional
- Communication and Language
- Physical
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Expressive Arts and Design
- Understanding the World
These seven areas are used to plan your child’s learning activities. Within these areas there are separate Early Learning Goals which we aim for children to achieve by the time they finish both nursery and reception.
In the EYFS we follow the Bishop Gilpin ethos and aims, incorporating growth mindset and learning through the 4R’s. Click here for more information on Growth Mindset and the 4Rs at Bishop Gilpin.
“Through first class teaching and creative activities with an excellent level of challenge the children make exceptional progress in the Nursery.”
