Reception Admissions

Bishop Gilpin is a two-form entry primary school admitting 60 children to Reception each year. We hold open days for prospective parents to learn about the school and have a guided tour by our children during the Autumn Term each year.

Applications are made during the Autumn Term prior to your child entering primary school (Reception) at rising five years old through your home borough on the Common Application Form.

For more information visit the London Borough of Merton website or email admissions@merton.gov.uk.

Application for Reception for September 2019 has now closed.  Parents wishing to apply for a place in Reception for September 2019 should contact their home borough Admissions Department.

NOTICE FOR PARENTS/CARERS APPLYING FOR A RECEPTION PLACE FOR SEPTEMBER 2019

Pan London Offer Day will be on TUESDAY 16 APRIL 2019.  Unfortunately this will fall during the Easter holiday (set by Merton Local Authority) and the school will be closed until TUESDAY 23 APRIL 2019.

The Admissions Office will be open from 9.30 am on 23 April for enquiries.

If your child has been unsuccessful in obtaining a place at the school please be advised that if Bishop Gilpin Primary School was a higher preference on your Common Application  Form than the school your child has been offered, your child will automatically remain on either the Foundation or Open Waiting Lists until the end of the Autumn Term 2019.

However, parents should note that once the first round of offers is sent out there will be a period of time for families to accept or decline places and further offers will be sent out in due course (usually by late May/early June in the first instance).  Late applications to Bishop Gilpin will also be received, ranked in accordance with the school's Admissions Policy and added to the waiting lists. This will mean that accurate waiting list positions will not be available until late May/early June 2019.
