PE and Sport Premium

Background

The Department of Education is providing all primary schools with additional funding to improve the provision of PE and sport. The funding calculation is based on the number of children at the school.

For 2018-2019, Bishop Gilpin received £19,975 in 2 instalments.

As a school, we have allocated the funds on the continuation and expansion of physical education,  extra-curricular sports clubs and competition opportunities and the general fitness of our children, led by Alec Smail and Richard Gulston (Pioneer Sports Academy)

This had led to:

  • Increased volume of pupils representing the school in teams with self- arranged inter school competitions and fixtures (65% across KS2 April 2019 - 156 children in total). This percentage is due to increase by the end of summer term as more fixtures are coming through.
