PHONICS

Our phonics programme has been developed as a result of our partnership with an English hub. We use Letters and Sounds as a basis for our bespoke approach to teaching phonics in a systematic and structured way.  Children work systematically from Phase 1 (Nursery) to Phase 6 (Year 2).

Children are taught all the KS2 spelling rules by the end of year 5 and they consolidate their knowledge of these in year 6.
